Clinical learning in an Arctic setting

Arctic Pelvic Floor Meetings is the biennial conference of the Norwegian Advisory Unit on Pelvic Floor Health (Nasjonalt senter for bekkenbunnshelse). It is a meeting place for multidisciplinary updates in the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions.

Each meeting gathers national and international experts for two focused days of education, scientific exchange, and professional community — in a setting that reflects the calm, clarity, and northern identity of APFM.

The work is part of a wider mission: equitable, knowledge-based pelvic floor care across professions, specialties, and regions.

What APFM stands for

The meetings are built around four commitments that shape the programme, the community, and the clinical work we share.

  • Multidisciplinary education

National and international experts share updates in the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions — across nursing, physiotherapy, medicine, and allied professions.

  • Evidence-based practice

APFM focuses on tools, methods, and clinical approaches that clinicians can take home, from conservative care to surgical perspectives, grounded in current evidence.

  • Research and knowledge

Abstract presentations, scientific exchange, and dialogue that connect research environments with everyday clinical work and move the field forward.

  • Equitable, person-centered care

Rooted in the mission of the Norwegian Advisory Unit on Pelvic Floor Health: knowledge-based, holistic, and equal care that strengthens health and quality of life.
